Requirements To Become A Certified Teacher In The State Of Texas.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
  • Complete an Educator Preparation Program (Current employees can take advantage of the Alternative Certification reimbursement stipend, up to $5,000)
  • Pass the appropriate teacher certification exams
  • Submit an application to the State
  • If you are a first-time applicant, complete fingerprinting requirements (as part of a national criminal background check).
