 Compensation Plan (2022-2023) For Teachers

The compensation plan for the academic year 2022-23 includes a revised salary structure for the teachers. Following are some key points of the compensation plan (2022-23):

  • 8% pay increase for all Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) appraised educators
  • A 6% increase in pay for all other district employees
  • The starting salary for a teacher in Killeen ISD is $56,160 

The compensation plan also focuses on Select Teacher Assignments and offers additional pay as per the structure mentioned below:

  • Bilingual Classroom: $7,500
  • Special Education Self-contained Classroom: $5,000
  • High School Shortage (Math, Physics, and Chemistry): $3,120
  • Sign-on Bonus (Bilingual, SpEd Self-contained, and high school math, physics, and chemistry): $2,080
  • Career and Technical Education Teacher: $1,305

Other Compensation Benefits Included In The Plan Are:

  • For every 5 years of completed service at Killeen ISD, employees will be offered District Longevity Stipend.
  • Killeen ISD offers employees two no-cost health insurance plans. 
  • Under Rehiring Retirees plan, Killeen ISD pays TRS surcharges for retired employees. 
  • Retired teachers returning to KISD will be paid at the same step as earned at retirement plus longevity. 

Killeen ISD leads the region in competitive employee compensation. In addition, it offers professional development opportunities to its employees in order to improve their skills and aid students' learning.
