School Nutrition At Killeen ISD

As part of KISD’s comprehensive approach to teaching and learning, the school district places a strong emphasis on providing students with access to healthy food. The School Nutrition Department of KISD is engaged in planning and providing nutritious meals to students and the school staff. KISD adheres to the nutritional standards and promotes lifelong practice of eating healthy meals to its students.

National School Lunch Week At Killeen ISD

KISD observed National School Lunch Week from October 10 through October 14, 2022, as a way to recognize the National School Lunch Program, which feeds millions of children daily across the United States. The School Lunch Week also acknowledges the Foodservice staff for preparing delicious and nutritious meals for children. Students also learn the advantages of eating healthy meals. National School Lunch Week also provides an opportunity to engage with students and educate them on the benefits of eating a healthy meal.

Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) Campus Program at KISD

Under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) campus program and the Healthy Hunger-Free Act of 2010, Killeen ISD is providing free breakfast and lunch to students at specified schools. The list of schools where free meals are provided under CEP program can be viewed at www.killeenisd.org/cep. The parents of students at these schools are not required to submit a free/reduced lunch application; however, they are asked to complete an annual CEP form.

Students at other schools can apply for free/ reduced cost meals by submitting an application for the same. The details of the application can be checked at -www.killeenisd.org/meals_application

  • Breakfast - FREE for all KISD students 
  • Elementary Lunch - $2.75
  • Secondary Lunch - $3.00

Adult 

  • Breakfast - $3.00
  • Lunch - $4.50

School menus can be viewed at https://www.schoolcafe.com/killeenisd or through Killeen ISD Mobile Application which can be downloaded from Google Play Store (for Android devices) or Apple App Store (for IOS devices).

Payments for meals at school can be made by creating an account on SchoolCafe.com. Besides making payments, the account at SchoolCafe.com allows parents to get alerts when the food balance is low, view purchases made and submit meal applications. Payments for meals can also be made through check.

AVID was established 35 years ago to train educators to adopt methodologies required for skill development of students.
