Financial Benefits: 

As of July 2022, starting salary for a beginning teacher in Killeen ISD has been raised to $56,160 for the upcoming school year. Bilingual and special education instructors are eligible for competitive stipends. Bilingual teachers are now offered a yearly stipend of $7,500, and the Special Education self-contained teachers are offered a stipend of $5,000 per year. The increase of a $2,000 stipend has been created to help offset relocation costs for teachers moving to the district. 

Teachers can earn additional income by teaching at Summer School. 

Killeen ISD allows former employees to return to the district and receive credit for their previous Killeen ISD years of service, thus retaining and recruiting tenured employees.   

Professional Development Benefits:

Teachers are offered professional development opportunities such as a 1-on-1 teacher mentorship program and access to a Teacher Media Center. Killeen ISD also offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This program assists employees with a range of personal and professional needs.   • Obtain a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
