Career and Technical Education At Killeen ISD
The Killeen Independent School District provides Career and Technical Education program for students. The program serves as a platform for career exploration and assists students in preparing for global competition by teaching technical proficiency.
The Career and Technical Education (CTE) program serves students by providing:
· Opportunities to gain current industry skills while using cutting-edge technology
· Rigorous coursework that includes academic integration, dual credit, articulated credit, and industry certifications
· High-quality professional development for educators, ensuring that students are college and job ready
· Instructional partnerships formed via business and industry engagement.
Killeen Independent School District offers courses in all sixteen vocational groups. Students begin exploring careers in elementary school, and by eighth grade, all students have selected a study program for their graduation plan. Students are encouraged to choose courses that align with their college and professional goals. Students in high school can take CTE courses at all four regular high schools as well as the KISD Career Center, with full-day or half-day scheduling possibilities.

About KISD Career Center
The KISD Career Center, located at 1320 Stagecoach Rd., Killeen, TX 76542, is a fully-equipped, cutting-edge facility where students from all four KISD high schools can pick courses that are consistent with their program of study. Each high school will provide students with required courses associated with their career goals prior to attending the KISD Career Center. Business collaborations, student internships, certificates, licensures, college credit, and hands-on educational experiences are all part of the curriculum of the KISD Career Center. These CTE programs were created in partnership with local companies and higher education institutions. Through these collaborative partnerships, the KISD Career Center delivers relevant experiences to better prepare students for college and the workforce. The KISD Career Center is an excellent approach to educate today's kids for tomorrow's increasingly technical and competitive workplace.
At the moment, the KISD Career Center's nearly 700 students can choose from 32 study programs with over 400 industry-recognized certificates. Nurses, EMT/Respiratory Therapists, Cosmetologists, Master Mechanics and Welders, Journalists, Web Developers, Educators, Members of Law Enforcement, etc. make up the CTE team. All of these contributors are licensed and competent professionals who have been providing their valuable expertize to help others learn.
