Career and Technical Education At Killeen ISD

The Killeen Independent School District provides Career and Technical Education program for students. The program serves as a platform for career exploration and assists students in preparing for global competition by teaching technical proficiency.

The Career and Technical Education (CTE) program serves students by providing:

·         Opportunities to gain current industry skills while using cutting-edge technology

·         Rigorous coursework that includes academic integration, dual credit, articulated credit, and industry certifications

·         High-quality professional development for educators, ensuring that students are college and job ready

·         Instructional partnerships formed via business and industry engagement.

Killeen Independent School District offers courses in all sixteen vocational groups. Students begin exploring careers in elementary school, and by eighth grade, all students have selected a study program for their graduation plan. Students are encouraged to choose courses that align with their college and professional goals. Students in high school can take CTE courses at all four regular high schools as well as the KISD Career Center, with full-day or half-day scheduling possibilities.
