 Killeen Independent School District is looking for new professionals to join their team! The school district is the 4th most diverse in the state of Texas. Serving the cities of Killeen, Fort Hood, Harker Heights and Nolanville, and jobs are available throughout the schools. KISD has over 50 campuses, employs over 6,100 individuals, and educates over 45,000 children.

Teacher salaries start at $52,000 per year. Bilingual and special education instructors are eligible for competitive stipends. Additional stipends are available. The steps to become a certified teacher at Killeen ISD are:

  • Obtain a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
  • Complete an Educator Preparation Program (Current employees can take advantage of the Alternative Certification reimbursement stipend, up to $5,000)
  • Pass the appropriate teacher certification exams
  • Submit an application to the State
  • If you are a first-time applicant, complete fingerprinting requirements
