The process of becoming a certified teacher involves a number of steps to complete.  Let us take a look at the process of becoming a certified teacher in Texas: Earn a Bachelor’s Degree: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is a must for becoming a teacher. The accrediting agency should be recognized by THECB (Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board) Complete an Approved Educator Preparation Program: An Approved Educator Preparation Program must be completed by a prospective candidate. For those without a degree, a university program should be completed. Contact a Post Baccalaureate program or an Alternative Certification program if you have a degree.
